Craig Mottram is pictured above (32) in the home straight of the 5000m final at the
2005 World Championships in Helsinki. He produced a fine finishing burst to sneak
past defending champion Eliud Kipchoge (560, red vest in the centre) to capture the
bronze medal in a time of 13: 32.96. Mottram was the only non African athlete to finish
in the top eight and the medal was his first at a major championship.
Benjamin Limo (565) won the Gold and Sileshi Sihine (274) the silver.
