Second place is always an "if only" position but Fabrice Lapierre, pictured above
with his silver medal (hidden !) was probably happy with his performance, in the final,
where he finished behind the Olympic Champion Greg Rutherford. Rutherford's second
jump measured 8.29. Thus Faberice's final leap of 8.24 (a season best)
was the third best of the competition (and kept him in second place - had a 8.20 on his fifth attempt).
Fabrice's personal best jump was 8.40 metres, achieved on 14 July 2010.
