Jarrod BANNISTER in action during the men's final in Daegu.
At the time he was the Australian record holder for the javelin with 89.02 set in 2008,
the year he finished sixth at the Beijing Olympic Games.
In 2010 he won the event at The Commonwealth Games, in Delhi, 81.71m.
This made him the first Australian winner in that event for nearly fifty years,
following in the footsteps of 1962 champion Alf Mitchell.
On 8th. February 2018, Bannister was found dead in his home in Eindhoven,
Netherlands, he was aged 33.
