Francine NIYONSABA - Burundi - 2020 Olympic Games 10,000m finallist.

meeting, where she won the 5000m in a Burundi national record time of 14:25.34.

She was already the National record holder for the 800m (1:55.47) and

10,000m (30:41.93), the latter which she set at the 2020 Olympic Games.

Her main event at major championships had previously been the 800m, with

medals at the Olympic and World Championships (2 gold and 2 silver).

In 2019, World Athletics had announced that Niyonsaba would not

be allowed to compete under the female classification in events

between 400 metres and one mile due to its regulations on

XY DSD athletes with naturally high testosterone levels.
