The race finish pictures above show Gary (428) crossing the finishing line neck and neck with Kenya's Alfred Kirwa Yego in the final
final of the mens 800m at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka. Reed won the silver medal in a time of 1: 47.10,
agonisingly just 1 hundredth of a second behind Yego. The individual photos show Gary during the heats. A delighted Reed
later described his silver medal winning performance as the "greatest day of my life". He added: "When I was leading I slowed
the race down because I knew if the race was slow I would have better chances."
