Janku, the silver medallist at the 2006 European Championships,

finished in 7th place with a jump of 2.29m.

The pictures above show Tomas during the final of the mens High Jump at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. He won the silver medal with a new PB jump of 2.34m, 2 cm behind the gold medal winner Andrey Silnov whose leap was a new championship record. The bronze medallist Stefan Holm and the fourth place athlete Linus Thornblad, both Swedes, also cleared 2.34m but Janku finished ahead of them on the countback rule.
