Tim is pictured above at the 2006 Grand Prix Final in Stuttgart. Lobinger, Paul Burgess

and Toby Stevenson all cleared 5.82m, but Tim was placed third on the countback rule.


Tim Lobinger died on 16th February 2023 aged 50 from cancer.
Lobinger had battled with cancer since being diagnosed with leukemia in 2017.

Tim is pictured above during the final of the mens Pole Vault at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. He won the silver medal alongside the Frenchman Romain Mesnil as the pair were unable to be seperated on the countback rule, with Israel's defending champion Alex Averbukh once again taking gold.
