Anyika Onuora winning her women's 400 metres semi final at the 2016 European Championships,
in 51.84 seconds. The following day, in the final, she took third place with a season best of 51.47 seconds,
ahead of Christine Ohuruogu, the former Olympic champion who had never won a medal at the European
Championships. Anyika then ran in the 4 x 400 metres final on the last day (10th.) and with Emily Diamond,
Eilidh Doyle and Seren Bundy-Davies won the gold medal.
