of the Marathon at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. Spedding put in the
performance of his life to win the bronze medal in a time of 2:09:58,
finishing just two hundredths of a second behind silver medal winner Treacy.

He is a pharmacist by profession. In September 2009, he published an autobiography
of his running career called From Last to First.
