Josh Kerr beats Olympic Champion Jakob Ingebrigsten to win
the men's 1500 metres. The final fifteen metres were a stride
for stride battle between the Olympic Champions Jakob and
Olympic bronze medallist Kerr.
In 2022 fellow Briton Jake Wightman beat Jakob to win
the World Championship 1500m title.

On 25th May 2024, running in the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene,
a the Diamond League meeting, Josh Kerr beat the British
one mile record with a time of 3:45.34. Ahead of Jakob Ingebrigsten
3:45.60, Neil Gourley 3:46.22 (PB) and Jake Wightman 3:47.83 (PB).
The previous reord had stood since 1985, Steve Cram's then World Record
of 3:46.32 set in Oslo.
