Katrina Thompson-Johnson competing in the long jump at the
2021 British Grand Prix/Diamond League meeting at Gateshead ahead
of her attempt to win a medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
As the results below show it was not an auspicious showing for the
2019 World heptathlon champion. Her personal best is 6.92m but in
Gateshead she came 8th with 6.10m.
After months inactive following a series achilles injury she
had only just returned to competition.
She did however compete in Tokyo at the 2020 Olympics only to
suffer a serous calf injury on day one. In Japan she clocked 13.27
in the 100m hurdles, high jumped 1.86m and reached 13.31m in the shot
but was injured during the 200m and had to retire from the competition.
