Danny Talbot racing in the men's 200 metres on 7th August in the heats when he
recorded a personal best time of 20.16 seconds (sharing the time with heat winner
Wayde van Niekerk.) Alas, his time of 20.38 in his semi final (4th.) was too slow to get
him a place in the final - 20.27 was needed). Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake (20.19) did qualify.
Nethaneel moved on to the 200m final (4th.) but Danny had to wait for Saturday's
4x100m relays three days later. The wait was worth it !
The Great Britain quartet of Chijindu Ujah, Adam Gemili, Danny Talbot and Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake not only beat
the United States (Usain Bolt pulled up for Jamaica) but they set a new European and
British record of 37.47 seconds and won the Gold medals.
They also recorded fastest time in the World in 2017.
