Joice is pictured above during the heats of the 100m at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg.
She qualified for the final and went agonisingly close to winning a medal, finishing in 4th place just two
hundredths of a second behind the silver and bronze medal winners Yekaterina Griogyeva and Irina Khabarova
who both clocked 11.22. Belgium's Kim Gevaert won the gold. The championships did have a happy ending
for Maduaka though as she anchored the GB team to a silver medal in the 4x100m.
