Julian GOLDING - Great Britain & N.I. - 1998 Commonwealth Gold & European Bronze over 200m

Later in the season he won the Commonwealth Games 200 metres title in

Kuala Lumper where he also helped England win the 4 x 100m relay recording a time

of 38.20 seconds, a Commonwealth Games record.

 

Golding went on to finish 7th in the final of the 1999 World Championships in Seville

and finished the year ranked number 9 in the world. Golding's last major competition was in 2003,

where he represented Great Britain at the Paris World Championships.


Three years later, he was forced to retire prematurely, due to persistent injuries.

In 1997 he won the European U23 200m championship and a bronze medal at the World Championships

in the 4 x 100m relay for Great Britain.

In July 2012, Golding graduated from Middlesex University with first class honours degree

for Sports and Exercise Science with Teaching & Coaching.

He later worked at Lea Valley Highschool as a P.E teacher.
