Ben Youssef Meïté won the 2016 African Championships in Durban in 9.95 (w) and
perhaps then he knew he could reach the final of the men's Olympic 100 metres,
which he indeed did. His previous results at the World Championships were 18th in 2015
& 33rd in 2011: plus 16th at the 2012 Olympic Games. So Rio 2016 was a significant
breakthrough.
Meïté also won the African 100m title in 2010 (10.08)
2016 Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro.
