| The photo above shows Beverly during the heats of the 200m at the
1999 World Championships in Seville. She went on to qualify for the
final and produced a terrific performance to win the silver medal in a
time of 22.22 secs. At the Sydney Olympics the following year, McDonald
would finish just outside the medals in 4th place but some years later
she was promoted to the bronze medal position after the gold medalist,
Marion Jones, was disqualified after admitting her use of illegal
substances. |
