It was the 2011 World Record (37.04s) set by the same Jamaican quartet of Nesta Carter,
Michael Frater, Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt that was beaten.

The pictures above show Michael during the heats of the mens 100m at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He went on to qualify for the final and produced a new PB time of 9.97secs, but such was the quality of the field it was only good enough for a 6th place finish. Frater, the 2005 World Championships 100m silver medallist, enjoyed more success in the 4x100m relay, teaming up with Nesta Carter, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell to win gold for Jamaica in a new World Record time of 37.10secs.

The two main pictures above show Michael Frater in full flow during the 100m heats at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. The inset photo shows the finish of the 100m final with Frater pictured fourth from left. He took the silver medal ahead of Kim Collins (second from right) despite the two clocking identical times of 10.05. Justin Gatlin (fourth from the left) was the runaway winner in a time of 9.88.
