Tanya LAWRENCE - Jamaica - 100m & 4x100m silver medals at 2000 Olympic Games

The photo above shows Tanya - lane one - on her way to a third place finish in the final of the women's 100m at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. However, the gold medal winner Marion Jones was later disqualified after admitting she had lied about drug use and Lawrence was move up one place to the silver medal position (Greece's Ekaterini Thanou remained a silver medalist and nobody was awarded the gold). Tanya later teamed up with Veronica Campbell, Beverley McDonald and Merlene Ottey to win silver in the 4x100m. Four years later in Athens, Lawrence and her team mates - Sherone Simpson, Aleen Bailey and Campbell - went one better and struck gold in the 4x100m.

Ekaterini Thanou, the Greek athlete who finished second place, was later suspended for two years following various scandals at the 2004 Summer Olympics.
