World youth 800m champion in 2013. World junior 800m champion in 2014.
Alfred Kipketer travelled to Brazil for the 2016 Olympic Games with perhaps high hopes
of a medal, having won the Kenyan Olympic trial. It was not to be and he 'only' finished
7th. as the runners ahead of him all ran season best times. Alfred had to wait for the
Diamond League meeting in Paris to show his true form where he ran 1:42.87 for a
personal best. He is pictured above after that race - perhaps wondering what might have been.
