Edna was voted Edna Ngeringwony Kiplagat crosses the finish line of the
women's marathon to win the first Gold Medal of the 2013
World Athletics Championships. By doing so she retained the title she
won in Daegu in 2011.

Edna was voted Kenyan Sportswomen of the year 2013.
In 2014 she won the London marathon.
Age 37, Kiplagat won the 2017 Boston Marathon in a time of 2:21:52 hours.

Kiplagat and her husband have five children – two of her own, two adopted from her sister who died
of breast cancer in 2003, and one adopted from a neighbor who died in childbirth in 2013.
