In 2013 Eliud moved onto the road and marathon running. He made his debut in Hamburg
winning in 2:05.30 followed by a 2nd place in Berlin 2:04.05 (PB). In 2014 he won the Rotterdam
marathon and in 2015 both the Chicago and London events ! All sub 2:05 times.
In 2016 he again won the London marathon (record 2:03:05) and then the big one -
the Olympic Games marathon. On 16th. September 2018 he broke the World Record
in Berlin with a time of 2:01.39. He knocked 78 seconds off Dennis Kimetto's record.
