Mary Jepkosgei Keitany crosses the finish line on The Mall to complete the marathon.
It was not the first time she had finished a marathon there. In April she retained her London
marathon title in a time of 2:18.17 and the year before had also won the race in 2:19.19.
Perhaps the one race she would have most wanted to win she failed even to win a medal.
Women's Marathon.
