The photo above shows William Chirchir (695) sprinting towards the finishing
line to take the 1,500 metres silver medal at the 2002 Commonwealth Games,
in Manchester.
In 1998 William won the World Junior 800 metres Championships in Annecy,
France with a time of 1:47.23. In 2001 he finished 4th in the 1,500 metres at the
World Championships in Edmonton.
