Wilson KIPSANG - Kenya - Bronze medal at 2012 Olympics.

Wilson  Kipsang is seen above passing Buckingham Palace for the fourth time,

with just 500 metres still to run.

His time was nearly five minutes slower than when he won the London

Marathon in April that year (2:04:44).

In 2011 he covered the Frankfurt course in 2:03:42, just 4 seconds slower

than the World Record.

The London Marathon is over one lap whereas the Olympic course had four laps

(one short and three longer ones).

Wilson Kipsange set a new World Record of 2:03:23 when winning the 2013 Berlin marathon.

In 2014 he again won the London marathon (1st. 2012) establishing a new a course record of 2:04.29,

with compatriot Stanley Biwott second 2:04:55. He also won the New York race in 2014.

In 2015 he finished second in London (2:04.47), in 2016 5th. in London and 2nd in Berlin (2:03.13).

He began 2017 by winning the Tokio marathon in a course record 2:03.58. He was second in the

New York marathon 2:10:56 in 2017.

In July 2020  Kipsang was banned for 4 years for anti-doping violations. He missed four "wherabouts

appointments" and tampering by providing false evidence.
