The photo above shows the race finish of the 1500m, the final
discipline of the womens Heptathlon at the 2006 European Championships
in Gothenburg. Karin (1492) judged the race to perfection, finishing
just 8 hundredths of a second behind Lilli Schwarzkopf (1320) in a new
PB time of 2: 11.97, thus meaning that she pipped the German to the
silver medal by just 3 points. The other athlete in shot is Great
Britain's Kelly Sotherton who finished in 7th place overall. The gold
went to the seemingly invincible Carolina Kluft.
