Sifan HASSAN - Netherlands - Second Gold medal in Doha. 1,500m added to 10,000m.

Sifan Hassan crosses the finish line to win the women's 1,500 metres in Doha

in a new Championship and European record of 3:51.95. Earlier in the week she

won the 10,000 metres in only her second attempt at the distance. She became the

first athlete of either gender to win both the 1500m and 10,000m at a World Championships.

None of the women broke 4 minutes in their heats/semi-finals. In the final the first

eight beat four minutes with four National records. 

In July 2019 she broke the women's mile world record with a time of 4:12.33 in Monaco.

On the 4th. September 2020 Sifan Hassan, smashed the world record for the women’s

one-hour race by more than a lap when she ran 18,930 metres during the Brussels

Diamond League meeting. She bettered the previous record of 18,517, set by

Ethiopian Dire Tune in 2008.
