Tomas Walsh unleashes the finest opening put in a major contest. His best ever
distance and a new Oceana continental record 22.90 m (75 ft 1 1⁄2 in).
It was the longest throw in 29 years, making him the 4th. longest thrower in history.
His reward ? A 3rd. place a bronze medal ! Ouch. It all went wrong in the last round.
2015 Champion Joe Kovacs squeezed past him with 22.91m and then Olympic Champion
Ryan Crouser reached 22.90m to equal Tomas (but has a better number two throw)
and thus stole the silver medal.
2019 World Championships. Doha, Qatar.
