Karsten Warholm in the "spot light" as the 400m hurdlers prepare for the final.
Because it was the last track event of the day (like the 100 metres finals
the previous two days) it was given the 'full treatment' with each runner introduced
in a light display. Karsten took full advantage as the photo above shows. The race itself
lived up to the presentation and Rai Benjamin gave the defending champion a real
challenge with both running under 48 seconds.
(He did not run the final carrying the bottle of water !)

On Thursday 29th. August 2019 in Zurich Karsten became the first European hurdler to
go
under 47 seconds when he won the Diamond League with a European Record of 46.92 seconds.
Kevin Young's World Record of 46.78 was set in 1992.
On 23rd. August in Stockholm he improved the record to 46.87.
