In 2023 Markus Rooth won the European U23 decathlon Championship.
In 2024 Markus Rooth won the Olympic Games decathlon - the first gold
medal for Norway in this event since 1920. All this age 22.
He is pictured above in Paris, long jumping (his highest scoring event), hurdling
and running in the 1500m. His ten events gave him a National record, beating
his own record of 8608.
