Russia's Danil Lysenko competing as a Authorised Neutral Athletes (ANA) at the 2018
World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, where he won the gold medal in the
men's high jump. He and 2017 World Champion Mutaz Essa Barshim, both cleared the
bar at every height first time until it reached 2.36m. Danil got over on his third and last
attempt, Mutaz did not.

In July 2021 Lysenko was banned for six years for multiple anti-doping violations.
Two years of his his ban, provisionally imposed in August 2018, were suspended
after helping bring charges against a number of Russian officials.
