A delighted Olga Kotlyarova is pictured above crossing the line to win gold in the final of the women's 800m at the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Kotlyarova just managed to see of the challenge of her fellow Russian Svetlana Klyuka, her time of 1: 57.38 being 1 tenth of a second quicker than Klyuka. It was the first medal that Olga had won at 800m, having previously won medals at 400m and 4x400m at major championships.
