The photo above shows the closing few metres of the women's 400m final at
the 2006 European Championships in Gothenburg. Olga (1641) won the
bronze medal in a time of 50.28 behind Bulgaria's Vanya Stambolova
(1069) with another Russian, Tatyana Veshkurova (1638), taking silver.
The other athlete in shot is Ilona Usovich who finished in fifth place.
Olga then rounded of the week in style by teaming up with Svetlana
Pospelova, Natalya Ivanova and Veshkurova to win gold for Russia in the
4x400m relay.
She was also part of the 4 x 400 m relay team for Russia that set the world record for the indoor event in 2006.
