The photo above shows the race finish of the women's 100m final at the 2006 European Championships
in Gothenburg. Yekaterina Grigoryeva (lane 1) won the silver medal in a seasons best time of 11.22 secs to capture
what was her first medal at a major championship. Belgium's Kim Gevaert (lane 3) won the gold and
Grigoryeva's compatriot Irina Khabarova (lane 5) the bronze. Yekaterina then rounded off her week
in style by teaming up with Yuliya Guschina, Natalya Rusakova and Khabarova to win gold for
Russia in the 4x100m.
