The pictures above show Yelena during the final of the women's High Jump at the
2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Slesarenko, the defending champion after her
success in Athens, missed out on the medals this time, her jump of 2.01m
leaving her in 4th place.
In November 2016 following another examination of her 'sample' from The Games
she was removed from the result. Traces of banned drugs were found to have been
used. As was Vita Palamar at the same time !
