Akani Sinbine is pictured above running in his 100m heat, which he
won in 10.03 and then he came first again in his semi-final, the following
day in 9.87 seconds. However, in the final, inspite setting a new South
Africa 100 metres record of 9.82 seconds, his winning streak came to an end
and he had to accept fourth place and no medal. The medal did come, in the
4x100 metres relay final, when South Africa won the silver medal behind Canada.
