Bruno Hortelano on his lap of honour with the Spanish flag thinking his has won
the silver medal in the men's 200 metres. However, he was awarded the gold medal
following the disqualification of 100 metres champion Churandy Martina who crossed
the finish line first, only to be told he had 'cut the corner' by running in the lane inside
his own (Martina was in lane 8). Although the 200m times were modest Bruno had set
a Spanish record of 20.39 in his semifinal.
He then improved that time to 20.18 in London on the 22nd July at the Olympic Stadium.
