in Paris. She ran 4:10.07 in her semi final. The winner Azzhakova was in time banned for
drug taking, but for this event she was not.

Nuria retained her title in 2012 after finishing 5th in the final !
No, that is not a joke, but the sport of athletics became one.
The event in Helsinki on 1st July 2012 was won by a Turkish athlete
with second place also going to a Turk. A Ukrainian came third and
a Russian finished fourth. Some while later all four were disqualified
for drug taking ! As was the Russian in 8th place.
Nuris ran a season best of 4:08.80 in the final.
Some people called the race "The dirtiest race in history"
