Ismail is pictured above (2914) crossing the line to win silver - his first medal at
a major championship - in the final of the men's 800m at the 2008 Olympic Games
in Beijing. The Kenyans Wilfred Bungei (2246) and Ismail Ahmed Ismail (2251)
won gold and bronze respectively. That year he also came second in the African Championship,
as he had done in 2006.
