A delighted Viktor is pictured above crossing the line in the bronze
medal position in the mens Marathon at the 2007 World Championships in
Osaka. It was an outstanding performance by Rothlin, given that the
exceptionally hot conditions were far better suited to the African and
Asian athletes.
His time of 2:17:25 saw him finish just 0.7 seconds
behind the silver medal winner, Qatar's Mubarak Hassan Shami.
