The pictures above show Joshua J. Johnson pipping Great Britain's
Dwain Chambers to the line by
the narrowest of margins to win the 4x100m
Gold medal for the U.S.A. at the 2003 World Athletics Championships
in
Paris. Johnson had trailed Chambers when handed the baton by Darvis
Patton but a sensational last leg saw
him make up the deficit. Chambers
later failed a drugs test and the GB & NI team were disqualified
meaning that
Brazil and the Netherlands took the silver and bronze
medals respectively
