Boniface KIPROP - Uganda - 4th in the 10,000m at Olympic Games & World Championships.

Boniface is pictured above (red vest) during the final of the men's 10,000m at the

2005 World Championships in Helsinki. Kiprop finished just outside the medals in

fourth place, as indeed he did at the previous years Olympics, in a seasons best time

of 27:10.98. Kenenisa Bekele (262) won the gold, Sileshi Sihine (274) the silver and

Moses Mosop (the athlete behind Boniface) the bronze.

In August 2004 he set a new 10,000 metres World Junior Record, 27:04.00 at the

Memorial Van Damme meeting in Brussels. The record was broken by

Samuel Wanjiru at the same meeting the next year.
