Yuriy is pictured above during the final of the men's High Jump at the 2005
World Championships in Helsinki. The unheralded Ukranian, in his first final
at a major championship, won the gold medal with a jump of 2.32m and can
be seen enjoying the moment of victory in the inset picture. Remarkably it was
the 24th and last attempt at the height between the eight athletes, who had
all cleared 2.29m.
