(A delighted Allan is pictured above celebrating the wicket of Darren Lehmann during his terrific spell of 10-1-32-4 in the 1999 World Cup semi-final against Australia at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Donald's efforts with the ball - along with a superb spell by Shaun Pollock - saw the Australians restricted to 213 all out from 49.2 overs and it seemed that South Africa were on course for victory only for Allan, who was the last man in, to be run out with the scores tied. Agonisingly for Donald and South Africa that meant that it was Australia who went through to the final courtesy of their victory over the Proteas in the Super Six stage.)
