Andrew Strauss is pictured above playing for England during his splendid knock of 116 in the team's 2nd innings of the 3rd Test against Pakistan at Headingley, Leeds in August 2006. Strauss's efforts - he also chipped in with 36 in England's 1st innings - helped the home side to a 167 run victory and they would go on to win the 4 match series 3-0. The final Test at The Oval saw England win in bizarre circumstances, the Pakistanis refusing to play after umpire Darrell Hair had accused them of ball tampering. England were therefore awarded the match 'by forfeit', the first time such an occurrence had taken place in the history of Test cricket. However, in July 2008, in a somewhat strange twist, the result was overturned and the match deemed to be a draw! It was a terrific series for Strauss on a personal note, his 444 runs coming at an average of 63.43.
