(Robin is pictured above in familiar pose - savagely square cutting - during his knock of 44 in England's 1st innings of the 4th Test against the West Indies at Old Trafford in August 1995. England won the match by 6 wickets to level the series at 2-2, which is how the 6 match series finished. Smith seemed to thrive when faced with the West Indian quicks and saved some of his finest performances - including his Test best 175 at St John's, Antigua in April 1994 - for the men from the Caribbean.)
