Tom played just the 5 Tests for England in the mid 1960s but continued to play county cricket into the late 1970s,
by which time he was in his forties. He is pictured above playing for Somerset in July 1973 but the majority of his
county career was spent at Warwickshire. Cartwright had a dual playing/coaching role for part of his time at Somerset
and was influential in the progress of a young Ian Botham. Tom sadly passed away in April 2007, aged 71.
