(Carl is pictured above during his terrific innings of 127 in the 6th Test against England at The Oval in August 1995. The West Indies rattled up 692-8 declared in reply to England's 454 all out and the match then petered out into a draw, England scoring 223-4 second time around, to leave an entertaining series all square at 2-2. The Windies total of 692-8 set a new Test record score for them against England but this was to be eclipsed in 2004 when they totalled a remarkable 751-5, Brian Lara scoring scoring 400*.)
