Transferred to Sheffield United in March 1979 for £100,000 for whom he played
78 League Games scoring 2 goals.

Tibbot retired from playing in 1981 but made a brief return in 1985 when he
became
player-manager of Finnish side TP-Seinäjoki. They played in the Finnish 3rd division
and Les proved to be excellent player at that level. 1986 he was given player-manager role,
he was still one of the best players in the division and lead his team to their
first-ever
promotion to second division.
He was later based in Hadleigh running his Travel business
(Beaumont Cars).
After finsihing in professional football he went back to Ipswich and
was in the Stowmarket Town
team that won the Suffolk Premier Cup in 1986/87
