The pictures above show Fernando Ricksen playing for Rangers during their
3-2 win against Motherwell.
In October 2013 Fernando revealed on Dutch TV that he has Motor Neurone Disease.
It was understood he received the shock diagnosis after undergoing tests
at a clinic, near to his home in the Netherlands, after feeling continually drained.
He died in St Andrew's Hospice in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire on 18th. September
2019 aged 43
Transferred from AZ Alkmaar, Holland in July 2000 for £3.75m.
