A hugely talented striker with a keen eye for a goal, Michael Bridges was a big loss for Sunderland when he
moved on to Leeds United in the summer of 1999, David O'Leary paying £5, 600, 000 for the services of
the youngster. Michael played a total of 91 games during his time with the Black Cats but 50 of these
were as a sub. He still managed the healthy return of 21 goals. He is pictured above during the
